Q. Why is it called PONY?

A. Corinna called it Pony for ponytail. She had to practice the ponytail over and over again to try to master it and to get on the backstage FW team. Many designers prefer the model’s hair back and some sort of ponytail is still the most common look you will see on the runway. There is an art to achieving that perfect pony and that it is not as easy as it seems.

Q. What inspired you to open Pony Studios and Salons?

Corinna knew she needed to have her own space after working in other salons in San Fransisco and teaching in other people’s spaces for many years. She was taking lots of equipment with her everywhere combined with the commuting just wasn’t sustainable for her, her family, or the environment. She wanted her own team who she could teach and mentor and a home for Pony Education, a space that promotes the empowerment of hairdressers by offering a deeper understanding of our craft with a comprehensive curriculum.
